First steps

The makerspace is open to all students, faculty, and staff at UCSD. You can gain access to equipment here by completing training on specific items that you’d like to use. The process generally looks like this:

1. Sign the DocuSign waiver.
2. Watch our online tutorial videos for the equipment that you’re interested in.
3. Come by the makerspace during open hours, and demonstrate to our staff that you understand how to safely use the equipment.
4. Our staff will grant you card access to that equipment.

Once you’ve been granted access to a piece of equipment, you’re able to return and make use of it at any time during our open hours.
