The SHOPBOT PRSalpha 96-48-8 router has great flexibility, and a variety of available end mills. The large bed enables carving of materials up to 4 x 8′, making it extremely versatile in producing a wide range of projects, including beautiful 2D sculptures for wall art, furniture pieces, as well as smaller projects such as boxes, holders, and custom gifts.
The Carbide 3D Shapeoko Pros are a great first step towards understanding CNC routing, thanks to their smaller work bed, speed presets, and beginner-friendly software.
They offer a range of tool flexibility comparable to the SHOPBOT router, although the compact form factor does limit the size of end mills which are usable.
The Shapeoko Pros are perfect for producing smaller pieces with precision.
The Taig 5019CNC Micro Mill serves as a small but capable introduction to CNC machining.
